Sabine Chalopin

Leadership and Transition Advisor

Meaningful impact rarely happens by simply continuing to do what you've always done.

Helping people and organisations navigate moments of change, complexity and opportunity.

Founder of Pillar 3 standing beside the Thames, London

I work with leaders, investors and organisations at moments when the path ahead isn't entirely clear — helping them step back, sharpen their thinking and make decisions with greater clarity and conviction.

For individuals, this may mean navigating a career or leadership transition, questioning what success means now, or deciding what the next chapter should look like.

For organisations, it may mean navigating complex strategic, ESG or sustainability challenges, strengthening leadership and governance, or responding to a changing environment.

In both, my role is to bring experience, perspective and challenge — creating the space to think differently, make conscious choices and move forward with purpose.

For individuals

Leadership & Transition CoachingCreating greater alignment between what matters to you and how you lead, work and live.

The direction that once felt right may no longer feel quite so clear.

You may have built a successful career in private equity, investment or another demanding professional environment. You may be a leader, investor, entrepreneur or experienced professional with significant experience. And yet, at some point, you may find yourself asking — is this still what I want?

Perhaps you're considering a career change. Thinking about doing something of your own. Questioning what success means now. Stepping into a different kind of leadership role. Or simply sensing that something needs to change.

These moments can be an opportunity to pause and take stock.

My coaching and thought partnership provides a confidential space to step back from the demands and expectations around you, think clearly and pay closer attention to what matters to you now — what gives you energy, what no longer fits, and what you want to change.

Together, we explore what you want to preserve, change or let go of, and what you want your next chapter to look like. We might explore:

  • What matters most to you now
  • Where your work and life feel aligned — and where they don't
  • What gives you energy and what drains it
  • The assumptions, expectations or beliefs influencing your choices
  • What you want to preserve, change or let go of
  • The kind of leader you want to become
  • What you want your next chapter to look like
  • How to turn your ambitions into clear, meaningful action

Leadership. Transition. What's next?

I work particularly with experienced professionals navigating inflection points — moments when the path ahead is no longer obvious, or when the definition of success that once worked no longer feels quite right.

My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to bring experience, perspective and challenge, while creating the space for you to make decisions that are genuinely your own.

For organisations

ESG & Leadership AdvisoryTurning ambition into impact.

I provide independent sustainability advice to investment firms and portfolio companies that want to strengthen their approach, manage risk and create lasting value.

With experience across private equity, infrastructure and complex investment environments, I can provide senior-level expertise where you need it — whether that's ongoing fractional leadership or support around a specific challenge.

  • Develop and evolve ESG and sustainability strategies
  • Strengthen responsible investment approaches
  • Identify and manage environmental and social risks
  • Develop climate change strategies and transition plans
  • Embed ESG into investment and business decision-making
  • Support portfolio companies through change and growth
  • Translate ambition into practical action

Experienced enough to challenge. Independent enough to be objective. Practical enough to make things happen.

Think differently. Choose deliberately. Act with purpose.

I bring together three things — the three pillars this practice is built on.

Experience

More than two decades working in demanding investment, infrastructure and sustainability environments have given me a deep understanding of organisations, leadership, complexity and change.

Perspective

As an independent advisor and thought partner, I can step outside the system with you — seeing patterns, asking the uncomfortable question, and helping you see the bigger picture.

Partnership

I don't arrive with a predetermined answer. Whether working with an organisation or an individual, my role is to work alongside you — with challenge, curiosity and practical thinking.

About Sabine

Experience with purpose.

I have spent more than 20 years working across private equity, infrastructure and sustainability, helping organisations navigate complexity, manage risk and create meaningful change.

My career has given me experience of working with senior leaders, investment teams and organisations across different markets and cultures — and a deep understanding of what it takes to turn ambition into action.

Alongside my professional experience, I trained as a coach through Wayfinder Life Coach Training, founded by Martha Beck, and completed Harvard's Immunity to Change programme, which explores the underlying beliefs and competing commitments that can prevent meaningful change.

I bring these different perspectives together through Pillar 3. As an independent advisor and thought partner, I work with organisations and individuals who are navigating change and want to make a meaningful impact.

My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to bring experience, perspective, challenge and curiosity — and to create the space to think clearly, question assumptions and make choices that are genuinely your own.

I live in London with my husband, three teenage children and our cocker spaniel, Rocky. I love covering both UK and international clients from my London base.

I believe that meaningful change starts with clarity — understanding what matters, what might be getting in the way, and what you want to create next.

The Pillar 3 idea

A third way of thinking about impact — it isn't only about what you achieve. It's about what you choose to contribute.

For organisations

That means making sustainability and responsible investment part of how value is created.

For people

It means thinking consciously about the contribution you want to make through your work, leadership and life.

Sometimes the biggest opportunity for impact comes at a point of transition. That's where I come in.
